Disappointing Day

This is what Jerry Seinfeld had to say about the royal wedding:

"You know, it's a dress-up. It's a classic English thing of 'let's play dress-up. Let's pretend that these are special people.' "

Ouch, right? But let's not pretend that we all weren't thinking the same thing...

I'll admit that I watched it. Not 12 hours full of commentary (nor was I tempted to buy a new commemorative fridge), but I did see a 5-minute clip of the highlights. Here were my impressions...

1. Kate's entrance - why didn't I get to walk down the aisle? To a thousand adoring fans?

2. the vows - ummm why don't I have an English accent?

3. the cake - holy brilliant - two cakes? Seems so obvious now!

So to make myself feel better, I decided to look up what the monarchy does in England. The first line of wikipedia said that while they can vote, they shouldn't because they're supposed to remain neutral.

Ummm...what? So the only thing I thought they did, they can't do. I have more political sway than the monarchy.

And I'm a Libertarian in Kentucky.

So basically I'm better off.

And besides...I did marry a prince!

*And this is where I'll eventually post a picture of Rust playing Prince Charming in his high school play. I'm just currently much too lazy to go dig through our basement and scan in a picture.
