Trials

There was a class I took at Women's Conference entitled, "The Hand of an Old Friend". The point of the class was to offer suggestions of different ways to help your friends through their trials. My favorite part of the class was when the instructor shared the story of the paralytic that was taken by his friends to be healed. They couldn't find a way into the house where Jesus was staying, so they broke a hole through the roof and lowered him down that way and was consequently healed. What has stayed with me was when the instructor said,

"He was healed by the faith of those that loved him."

I have a lot of friends that are going through a really hard time right now, not just the standard trials, but a really really hard time. I wish I had babies to give, or health, or money (lots and lots of money!), but I just don't. So I just thought that I'd let you all know (and you know who you are), that I'm really praying for things to get better for you. As much as I struggle with my faith sometimes, I do have faith that things will work out. And as much as I would love to, but can't take away your pain and your stress, I can pray and I do pray fervently for you.

Brits I just got chills all over reading this post. Thank you for your faith and prayers for all of us who are having some sort of trial we are dealing with at this time. This months vt message really stood out to me alot. We are asked to pray for each other and having been on the receiving end of prayer for so long I know that is what sustains me through the trials I have been given in my life. Friends like you who are amazing and have such faith and offer prayer so often make the world of difference! This is what encourages me to pray more fervently and more often for others.
I just wanted to be one of many to tell you thank you and know that you and your family are one of the many who always remain in our prayers!
We love you guys!!!

You are a good friend Brittany. I've never before been on the receiving end of prayers like I have been recently but I can honestly say that I feel them. I feel myself being lifted in a way that can only come from prayers from others. Thank you. I'll take a baby too though, you think you can get me one... ummm just kidding.

Thanks for that post! I love that one line quote! I"m going to remember it. Thanks for your thoughts. I struggle with not being able to take pain away from my friends. I can only imagine how the Lord feels as we struggle. He knows it's best for us but can't take it away from us! Thanks for your testimony.

After I told her that Ben and I were going to try for anothe kiddo one of the ladies in my ward told me that they had all been praying for me. Shoot, even if it was just here IT WORKED!

Look at you rocking someone's world. They didn't know it but I'm sure they could feel it!

these past few years i've prayed so hard and so often for the same request, that i sometimes wonder if the lord is getting weary of hearing it. you've just reminded me that praying for others is one of the most important works we can perform. thank you.
