Election Day

I am really excited about this election.  Not for any noble or patriotic reason, but more because all the political forwards will stop!

Not much has changed! (other than how freakishly pale I am now in comparison).  But we do have our maps all drawn out so we can color along as the states are announced.  Does that make us dorks?

Actually, I guess more has changed than I thought.  Last election, we skipped work and school and stayed glued in front of the TV until the election was called.  Now Rusty has a real job and I have real responsibilities (my library books are due today) and we don't have any TV channels....so I suppose we'll have to get our election coverage by continually refreshing Fox News.  It would be more fun to watch it all night on TV though (not that I would miss volleyball night for anything!), but who really wants to watch our country turn a little more socialist today??

I'm still relying on the Bradley effect.

I take full responsibility for the email forwards. You know you'll miss me these next few weeks. Admit it.

a couple more observations:

you look rediculously tan in that picture. is the paperchain a countdown till you leave hawaii? or maybe until you get prenant? :)

I don't mind your email forwards Ging. You're biased in the correct direction.

Oh, and I think it was a Christmas countdown. Which is about the time I got pregnant, so maybe both?

Love the maps. I would do that, but my dh would have a coronary. He gets so stressed and worked up, particularly with the socialism stuff going on.

I will be at work until 11:30 pm so I don't have to know much until it is over. Unless of course some customer tells me or I get a text message.

WHAT? didn't you hear Rush Limbaugh today?? He said, "Do NOT watch the news tonight, just listen to my show tomorrow morning." Sometimes he's a little weird.

Go socialism!

Heh, just kidding.

Wait a second. So you were HOPING that America is more racist than they admit to in the polls? That's rather dour. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter.

Brits said...

No! It's not like that at all. During polling, when someone is asked who they're going to vote for, even if they're voting for the white guy, some people will say they're voting for the black guy, so they don't look racist. I was hoping the polls were skewed towards Obama because of this phenomenon.

so what happened to the bradley effect???? it makes perfect sense to me, so why didn't it work? election results were in when i was in the middle of my wednesday teaching school in china. (tues. night in the u.s.) i didn't want to hear the news but finally broke down and asked my students in the middle of class who won. they knew i was major-pro-mccain and they sheepishly and quietly said, "obama". i faked a heart attack and dismissed class to go into mourning. (not really, but close to it.) is it not strange that all these pro-communists chinese told me they were pro-obama? let's see, brit, how many day did you declare bashing legal until we work on unity? I will only bash for one day so i don't turn into the moaners and groaners for eight years like all my democrat friends have been.
